These stones emerged from a fascination with the ancient practice of stone balancing, but reimagined for contemporary contemplative practice. Unlike traditional meditation objects, these are designed to be handled, stacked, and rearranged as part of a mindful routine.
The first prototypes were too uniform, lacking the subtle variations that make balancing genuinely engaging. Through multiple iterations, I discovered that slight asymmetries in weight distribution create the most satisfying balancing challenges—difficult enough to require attention, simple enough to achieve success.
Each set contains three stones that work together in various combinations. The largest provides a stable base, the medium serves as either foundation or top piece, and the smallest offers delicate finishing possibilities. Together, they create countless balancing opportunities.
Made from locally sourced river stones, each piece is hand-shaped and weighted to create unique balancing dynamics. No two sets behave identically, making each collection a distinct contemplative tool.
